Coca-Cola Lisburn Half Marathon issues Final Call for Entries

Lisburn City Council and Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland have joined forces to encourage more runners to participate in the 2011 Coca-Cola Lisburn Half Marathon, 10K Road Race and 3K Fun Run.

Thousands have already registered to take part in the annual events, which will take place on Wednesday 15th June at 6.45pm.

There is something to suit everyone at this event, which provides a broad choice of runs and walks for sporty fun runners to elite competitive athletes. So join in the fun and register online at www.lisburnhalfmarathon.com to secure your starting position at the races.

The Mayor of Lisburn, Paul Porter, said: “The Council is very pleased that the reputation of this annual event in the City of Lisburn continues to grow. It attracts thousands of runners and spectators to the roads and streets of Lisburn. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the organisations which are sponsoring and supporting this event in partnership with ourselves and note that without Coca-Cola this event could not happen.

“It would be great to see families and friends come along on the day and cheer the runners on from the sidelines as they put their training to the test,” he concluded.

The official charity of this year’s event is the ‘Carers Forum on Learning Disability’, a local Lisburn based charity providing a voice for people with a range of learning disabilities and also their families and carers.
